HERE’S EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT INFLATABLE TENTS

YAHAMA

If you’re someone who loves to go camping but doesn’t like fighting with tent poles, there are a couple of options that you can avail yourself.

Pop-up tents have been a popular choice over the years, but they come in small sizes. Inflatable tents, on the other hand, are good options if you want to set up a large tent easily. That’s why inflatable gazebos are becoming extremely popular and reliable.

There were days when inflatable event tents could have punctured easily, or even explode due to various reasons. But the custom marquees that are being manufactured today are solid, built to last and super-convenient.

They have a lot of benefits too, including being easier to assemble, and sturdy. And in this blog, we will discuss in detail the various facets of inflatable gazebos.

Before we tell you the various small nitty-gritty of the product, let’s start by defining an inflatable tent.

What is an inflatable tent?

As the name suggests, inflatable tents, also known as blow-up tents or air tents, are tents that can be inflated and used for camping. To the naked eye, inflatable tents look much like normal standard tents. However, rather than having metal or fibreglass poles, inflatable tents have air tubes or beams that are pumped up to support the shell of the tent.

Advantages of inflatable tents

  • Convenience: The main advantage of inflatable gazebos is their convenience. These tents can be installed and taken down much more easily and quickly than tents with poles. This is because the poles are integrated into the body of the tent itself.
  • No need to thread poles: Let’s be honest. As a camper, you must have faced a lot of difficulties when you were pitching a tent with poles. However, having inflatable and inbuilt poles can eliminate those very problems. First you don’t need to unfold and connect unwieldy poles. Moreover, the poles might not align with the measurements of the entire set-up and could be many metres in length. With the inflatable event tents, you don’t need to struggle to thread the poles through the tent and fight to secure them into the necessary shape.
  • One single unit: The tents tend to come as a single unit rather than in different bags. It means that everything is contained within a single bag and there’s less risk of losing anything. So all you need to do is spend some time inflating them at the start of your camping vacation.

How do the tents work?

As already mentioned, these custom marquees have a series of air tubes that act as beams. You need to inflate these beams in high pressure so that they become strong and sturdy support structures, helping your tent to stand tall and erect.

We recommend you carry a pump with you because inflating them manually might take some time.

FAQs

Are inflatable tents heavy?

Some of these tents could be heavier than standard pole tents because the materials used in the air tubes might be thicker than the ones in a traditional tent. This is because a puncture is a much more serious and bigger problem in an inflatable tent whereas a minor hole isn’t that big a deal on a standard tent. That’s why thicker rubbers and plastics are used to help prevent small scratches from becoming holes.

Are the tents strong?

Inflatable tents are quite robust after they’re assembled. They can resist strong winds and the usual guy ropes and pegs can keep them safely secured to the ground.

Punctures are quite rare. And even if they do happen, most tents come with a puncture repair kit to help you out in emergency situations.

You might feel that metal poles are stronger but consider this: these poles need to be lightweight to be portable. Inflatable air tubes are larger and are quite tough if you inflate them to the right pressure.

Do I need to carry a pump with me to blow up the tent?

You need a PSI of between 6 and 9 normally to inflate a tent. With the human lung managing a pressure of around 2.5 PSI at most, it means that you need either a manual or an electric pump to blow up the tent.

Are inflatable tents more expensive?

Inflatable event tents are expensive because they are made with relatively advanced technology. However, the cost is offset by the undeniable convenience that the tent provides you with.

Are they all-weather tents?

The inflatable tents can resist different forms of weather, from the scorching sun to storms and heavy winds. Moreover, they are quite reliable because you don’t need to worry about breakages as they don’t have poles.

What sizes are the inflatable tents available?

Inflatable tents are available in mainly standard sizes and shapes. You can either choose a dome-shaped tent or a regular arched rectangle. However, these tents are quite large in size and can easily accommodate three to six people.

Our advice to you is that if you’re camping with your friends and family, an inflatable tent could be your best option.
