George Clayton is an expert in derivatives valuation, market structure, and dynamics. He is a former trader of FX, bonds, equities, commodities, cryptocurrencies, and their associated derivatives. His experience includes energy commodities, derivatives valuation modeling, portfolio risk management, regulatory compliance, digital assets.

George acts as a consultant within the crypto community assisting a number of new and developing business. He also presently provides subject matter expertise and litigation expert witness support. He has handled multiple different civil and criminal matters.
Between 2017 and 2023, George co-founded and led an alternative asset fund focused on a portfolio of cryptocurrencies. His responsibilities included research, strategy execution, operations management for yield farming and protocol staking, and leading communication for investor relations and fund administration.
From 2008 to 2017, as the co-founder of Levante Capital he focused on electronically traded and OTC energy derivatives on NYMEX, ICE and NASDAQ. His leadership involved devising trading strategies, particularly in natural gas, crude oil, and refined products, and risk management.
During his time at Levante, he also co-founded Levante Fuels Management, a hedge fund trading physical cargoes and listed derivatives of fuel ethanol. He acted as head trader executing arbitrage strategies between mid-west bio-refiners and coastal refiners and gasoline blenders, in addition to leading the risk control, reporting and treasury functions.
From 2002 to 2008, he was Head of Energy Trading at Saxon Financials Ltd., in London, Gibraltar, and Madrid.
His earlier career includes managerial roles at RTS Realtime Systems in New York and as an independent options trader at prominent exchanges such as LIFFE. George started his financial career as an Interbank Foreign Exchange Trader at Banque Nationale de Paris in Frankfurt in 1989.
