5 Tips For Healthier Lungs

When breathed in, these pollutants put more stress on people with existing risk factors, so be aware of your lung health and keep tabs on the air quality in your area. 

If the air quality is poor, try to stay indoors during the worst days. Also, avoid secondhand smoke and don’t exercise near traffic where exhaust can harm your lungs. 

Tip 5: Try To Avoid Illness

While avoiding infection entirely is impossible, it’s better for our lungs and overall health to minimize exposure to the flu, common cold, and COVID-19. If you are older, already have a lung disease, or have other increased risk factors, preventing infection is especially important.

One way to prevent sickness is through vaccinations. Your doctor may recommend you get your flu shot once per year and remain current with boosters for COVID-19. Finally, if you are over 65, you might also consider getting a pneumonia vaccine.
